How the calculations work
Annual manual-work cost = weekly team hours × working weeks × hourly staff cost.
Annual time released = annual hours × your selected reduction.
Capacity value = time released × hourly staff cost.
With investment figures entered, annual modelled benefit is capacity value plus
existing costs removed. Three-year cost is the one-off investment plus 36 months
of ongoing costs. Three-year net benefit is three years of modelled benefit minus
three-year cost. ROI is net benefit divided by that cost.
Payback is the one-off investment divided by the monthly benefit remaining after
ongoing costs. The first-year break-even target shows the weekly hours that must
be released to cover one-off and ongoing costs, after existing costs removed.
The model assumes the selected improvement and cost removals apply from go-live,
remain constant for three years and are realised in full. It excludes rollout
delays, ramp-up, inflation, tax, financing and discounting. Time benefits are
economic capacity value, not guaranteed cash savings. No lost-sales, stock
reduction or revenue-growth benefits are assumed.
